Bogolan Figures de Amadou
Enjoy the truly African spirit !
For this design, the Master Bogolanier of Bandiagara, Amadou Ganame, has allowed his creativity to run free. This has resulted in a truly unique and varied pattern. The work is of high quality as can be seen from the different techniques applied and the neatness of the drawings.
This bogolan fabric -or mud-cloth- is 100% natural and is composed of rainfed and handpicked cotton, which is locally spun and locally woven into small strips. The strips are still recognisable in the fabric. The black colour of the fabric is coloured with mud- hence the name mud-cloth. The brown colours are made from natural dyes such as treepods and bark.
This piece has already been washed once.
The colours will gradually fade with more frequent washing. You won’t mind
this though, as the fabric becomes even softer.
