Bogolan dessin art
Let the sunshine in !
For this design, the Master Bogolanier of Bandiagara, Amadou Ganame, has been very creative. He applied different techniques and this has turned into a very sunny composition that will definitely boost your spirits !
Whether you use it as a throw or as a table cloth, you will immediately feel the soft warmness it exudes.
This bogolan, or mud-cloth- fabric is 100% natural and entirely composed of rainfed and handpicked cotton, which is locally spun and locally woven into small strips. The strips are still recognisable in the fabric. The black colour of the fabric is coloured with mud- hence the name mud-cloth. The brown colours are made from natural dyes such as treepods and bark.
This piece has already been washed once.
The colours will gradually fade with more frequent washing. You won’t mind
this though, as the fabric becomes even softer.
